The strength of some people

I met Suzanne at a couple of AIESEC conferences back in the day. I can't say we became firm friends, but with a personality like Suzanne's you just can't miss her. Anyway, she's gone through a bit of a rough patch right now, having had to go through some surgery. If it were anyone else their life would have probably fallen apart, but not Suzanne. Her blog is so full of optimism and cheerfulness that you've just got to admire her and learn a lesson from her.

Thanks Suzanne for helping to enforce the importance of positive thinking and optimism. I am going to try hard to take a page from your book and follow suit! And get well soon, we're thinking of you. I hope you will be back to dancing in no time.

You can follow Suzanne's experiences through her blog

Toto in Edinburgh

Toto arrived on Saturday, and will be in Edinburgh for the next 6 months. Its been over 2 years since I last saw him, and he hasn't changed one bit. Its so great having him around again. Toto is one of those people so full of life that you get infected with their enthusiasm if you hang around them, even for just a bit.

Its funny seeing him in the UK though. Back in Malta, he was one of the people who inspired me to join AIESEC and to get as involved as I did (thanks Toto!). He was at a level of AIESEC I really wanted to reach. I guess I did not feel we were at the same level. Its very different now though, I feel so much more relaxed and easy at talking to him, its much more fun and chilled!

I think perceptions are such an interesting thing, and watching your own perceptions change as you change can be quite startling but also funny. Toto passed a comment yesterday "imagine someone had to tell us 5 years ago in Malta that we would be sharing experiences together in Edinburgh in 5 years time, would you have believed it?" No Toto I wouldn't have, but I am really glad its happening! Role on the next 6 months, I smell a lot of fun on the horizon!

Grey grey Edinburgh

Well got back to Edinburgh last Monday, and since then its been nothing but grey, frosty and cold! Sure it was cold in Luxembourg, but at least there was some sun! And the clouds were not as heavy or foreboding as the ones here. There is not much one can do though except try to ignore it as best you can.

Not too much is happening this week. I suppose on the whole its a pretty normal week, if ever there was one! It may be just the calm before the storm though, as Toto is arriving on Saturday. Its great the way things tend to work out. Toto emailed me the address of the flat he's moving to, and its just around the corner from the house Dave and I are moving to in a couple of weeks!! I love it when these little things happen! Makes life so much more interesting.
