Holiday weekend
Today Dave is joining us in Luxembourg for the weekend. I am really looking forward to relaxing with him and my parents! Being a history maniac, I am sure he'll be asking me lots of questions about luxembourg's history, and I shamefully know nothing!! He's going to have to wait until he sees my dad to get any answers to them!
I received great news this week. An old Italian AIESEC friend of mine is moving to Edinburgh for 6 months!! Toto was one of the people who had first motivated and inspired me in AIESEC. I haven't seen him in almost 2 years, and even then it was only a brief meeting. I am very excited at the thought of him being in Edinburgh for a while...its going to be such a laugh!!
Luxembourg
I am visiting my parents in luxembourg this week. Its always so lovely seeing them again, they are such a steady, loving part of my life. Its easy to relax in their company.
Its snowing gently and lightly outside as I write this. I love snow. It makes the world bright. For places like Luxembourg or Edinburgh I think snow is really important, they can be such dark and grey places. I miss Malta and the sun and the blue skies and the sea! No matter what time of the year, you're always guaranteed to see a real sun or a real blue sky amidst grey weather.
Changes
It seems like this phase in my life is going to be all about change and moving on. The biggest change about to happen is probably that Dave and I are moving in together. We have now found a flat (its actually a small house and so LOVELY) and in 5 weeks we're moving in. The hardest part is having to wait 5 weeks to move in, I want to move in NOW!!
Still the 5 weeks gives one time to actually let it sink in. We're moving in together! Its something that is bound to happen, but I love the fact that its happening to me now. I am settled with my studies for the next 3 years. Dave and I have a great relationship, and we're ready for this. He is so much fun to be with, a real laugh, but also looks after me. He's become my rock and my home :)
There is also a spare bedroom, so anyone tempted to visit make sure you do!
Happy New Year!
Another party another new year! Happy 2006 to all! My new year was pretty good, lots of parties and hanging out with friends. We went to the street party in Edinburgh (known as Hogmanay), which was a blast, and then spent the Sunday out eating drinking and going to the movies. A great start to the New Year.
However, the best part of the New year weekend was probably coming back to Edinburgh. I was so happy to be back, and it really felt like home. Its funny, but sometimes it can be hard to let go, accept and enjoy your life. When things change, it can be hard to accept the change and move on. There has been some huge changes to my life over the past year. Its exciting and thrilling, but scary in a way. Its all different to how things were a year or so ago. I guess getting used to it all takes time.
Coming back here was terrific though. It feels like things are finally falling into place. Its such a great feeling. There's no more fighting with the change. I can finally settle down and enjoy it!
