Olay Face Wipes
As mentioned in the intro post, I intend to include some posts focussed on beauty and beauty product reviews. To start this off, I am going to post about my favorite face products, the first being the Olay daily facials express wipes.
I must admit that in the evenings I am super lazy, and my beauty regimen is the first thing on my to do list in the evening that suffers. I've always promised myself that I would only ever use face wipes after a night out, but with these babies I find myself reaching for them every evening.
Not only do they do a super job of removing makeup and grime, but they actually leave your skin feeling fresh, soft and moisturized. To top it off, after having used them for a few weeks, I actually noticed my skin texture improve. Who would have thought that all this could be found in a wipe?

The only snag with all this is the price. With Boots and Superdrug selling a packet of 25 for £4.49, it definitely comes on the steep end of the price list. I can't say its not worth it though!

Mind boggling psychiatric treatments by neatorama
I found this article at www.neatorama.com. It gives a startling historical overview of psychiatric treatments that have been performed in the past. Isn't it nice that we're a bit more clued up to the workings of the brain nowadays?

The Spiegel Tent is back at George Square!

All Edinburgh folks - The Spiegel Tent is back for the Edinburgh Festivals 2008! I must admit that the best part of the festivals for me is the Spiegel Tent. A beer garden situated in George Square, in the centre of Edinburgh, surrounded with shows and events.
Bring on the festivals!
Back Again
Hello all,
This is a short note to let you all know that I am back to the blogging world. I have a lot of plans and ideas for my blog so you might be surprised with the change. You'll be finding beauty news, beauty product reviews, fashion news plus the occasional geeky tech news. There should be something to suit everyone!
hmmmm
I am currently sitting at my desk at the labs in jeans and a wooly jumper. I have a summer top underneath, but it would be madness to wear just that since its still FREEZING!!!!
Next saturday is my birthday, and more than the disbelief of being 26 is the disbelief that I will be celebrating my birthday in 10C weather! It really is astonishing how cold it is here. Gone are the days when I could celebrate my birthday by sunbathing on the beach, and wearing sunny dresses!!
Its these little things that make you realize how much your heart aches for home sometimes. You might take the girl out of the mediterranean, but I can guarantee that you will never be able to take the mediterranean out of the girl!
All you enjoying the sun,
please send some sun and warmth this way!!
May Beautiful May!
Here are 10 reasons why I am so excited about the coming month:
- London for a weekend
- Alicia to stay for a week
- Visit to Merle's for a weekend in Inverness
- Toni to stay for a week
- Spring!!!
- Sitting on the grass in the park with Ruth and Liana
- Birthday weekend in Luxembourg with family and Dave
- Summer Clothes
- warm weather
- Lots of nights out!!
When will Spring break through?
Its beginning to happen, the trees are budding! Spring is so clearly trying to break through in Edinburgh. This winter has been so much colder than last year, and although it should be well into spring by now, it still snowed last weekend!
I don't mind admitting that I am really looking forward to spring getting here. Its such a pretty time to be in Edinburgh! And you get such a 'wake up' feeling. The world begins to live again, the trees blossom, the flowers bloom. Parks become alive, and its sunny until 9pm! So when is winter going to leave? Winter you've had your time, move over for Spring!
Malta in 10 days!
Aaah I am getting soo excited about my forthcoming trip to Malta! I haven't been to Malta since Christmas, and I cannot wait to be on that tiny island again, to meet up with old friends and have a good time!
I am looking forward to lots of sun. Its the middle of March and its still cold in Edinburgh (5C). The Maltese weather (16C) will be just what I need!! I also cannot wait to see my brother, whom I havent seen since Christmas, and my cat!! I miss my adorable cat.
The purpose for this trip is to go to my cousin's wedding. Thats right, another cousin is getting married! But it will be a great opportunity to meet all my family at one go, and have a bit of fun in the process!
Season change
I think its really amazing how there is always a 'sense' about a season. Right now its wet, cold, and supposed to snow, but although its as cold as winter, it 'feels' like spring is on its way, or has almost arrived! A few flowers are peaking out of the ground, some trees actually have buds beginning to show, and the birds have started singing! You don't realize how dead and silent winter is until you hear those chirps as you walk around town, or at six in the morning as you lie in bed!
Its so different to Malta really. In Malta it just goes from hot to cold, summer to winter. There isn't the transition into a season like there is here. I like it though, it makes you appreciate each season as you note the differences, and you realize that you are ready for the change.
